Borås is a locality in the Southwest part of Sweden and is Sweden's 14th largest city with 66 273 (2010) of the municipality's 107,604 residents.

The city is the center of “Sjuhäradsbygden”, which is an area historically known for its textile industry that culminated during the 1900s. Borås has also made a name for its mail-order business, which could be seen as the successor to the district's former itinerant merchants, "Knallarna". Borås has therefore been nicknamed the "Textile City".
